I have been shopping at Girl Friday since they opened their first shop on College near Ossington over 10 years ago. That location has since closed and their shop on Queen Street West downtown Toronto remains one of my favourite go-to shops for reasonably priced, fun, colourful, and unique clothing. Owner/designer Rebecca Nixon also makes a line of her own clothing (under the Girl Friday label) and I have purchased several staple pieces over the years.
They’re usually classic cuts that can be worn for many years. And, her line of clothing is MADE IN CANADA which is great if you’re looking to support locally-made products. I’m wearing a Girl Friday dress in that Cityline photo (from last summer).
I wear a lot of items from Girl Friday when I am on TV and Rebecca has kindly offered a $200 gift card to the store! The shop is downtown Toronto (so keep this in mind before you enter). Just leave a comment and tell me the piece of clothing you can’t believe you ever bought or wore (I had prized hot pink acid-washed jeans when I was 12).
